A Welcome Hammock

I will travel by Raven
To a land on the move
An island of Owls
Caring,kind and watchful
A hammock for sleep
Feathers for warmth
I have slept here before
in another year at another time

Feeling revived the mood lasted on
Till sleep came without pill or potion
I want those feeling once again
As life runs ragged as is the norm
Sometimes too quickly
trying to fit all of those wasted years
into the shortest of time left
That road I have travelled gets further away
I often regret I have left it too long

Hop on a plane ,a boat, and take the risk
What holds me back?
I know it too well!
It's safety of knowing that home holds the key
to all that I need ,want and desire

Instead I will travel to that Island
you covert
I'll stay with you Fran
on that home of the Owls
a more peaceful journey
or safe haven to find
Hold me a hammock
I'll call into see,
She who is friend to not only to
you and to me
A rest for we three
sounds more like a "Chat Fest"
No rest to be had
Perhaps split us up
to the North or the South
to rest in that hammock
an revive and revive...

My goodness, Lois, your words are loaded.
As life runs ragged as is the norm
Sometimes too quickly
trying to fit all of those wasted years
into the shortest of time left

They hit home--so true.

Some days Vi and Fran we try to fit in far too much ...The brain so active ,the soul so full, the inspiration spilling out,the need to do all is so great.....

It is only next day or the days that follow when the BODY says.....
Too much , much too much
slow down, slow down
rest up, rest up
Sit ,sit and dream awhile
Feet up- cup of tea or a
Mug of coffee-a glass of wine
And catch your breath.

Thank you Fran for my reserved space between the white gums.

And Vi for understanding all.

For Imogen....
Don't despair Darling ,you have a long way to catch up to us,enjoy your youth & exuberance to the fullest.....

What a special spot the Secretary has reserved for you Lois. It is a perfect healing space. Enjoy and savour it.

This gathering sounds like

Hope the younger travellers can cope with all those grey headed sages/crones/old villians....

Put us all in one corner Fran ,a tent marked " Advice Free" might be a good idea....
Le Enchantuer has no grey hairs ,although her hair is often different colours one begins to wonder does one.....

We will care for her we of the
the brigade of grey haired nurses.
